4-24 | Sparkleberry Country Fair

Take a trip back in time this weekend at the Sparkleberry Country Fair in Northeast Columbia. Sparkleberry is the only fair in the state that combines fun and education through hands-on demonstrations from the past. The full fair runs all day Saturday with a parade at 11:45 p.m. and amusement rides are open throughout the weekend.

Each year, more than 20,00 people from all over head to the fair to enjoy the variety of exhibits from beekeeping to classic cars. Kids will enjoy the many amusement rides including carousels, Ferris wheels and swings.

Everyone is sure to enjoy the fair’s wide range of festival foods and the educational exhibits focused on teaching generations where our food comes from.

This event is more than just fun and educational; support of the Sparkleberry Country Fair provides grant funds for education for Richland County School District 2. This allows students to participate in a number of activities to further advance their education including creating outdoor classrooms, performing with the South Carolina Philharmonic and working with Habitat for Humanity.

We hope you’ll make plans to take in the old days and take a break from tech with your family and friends this weekend!
