1. Lights Before Christmas at Riverbank Zoo and Botanical Gardens
Nearly one million twinkling lights, countless decorative images, Holly Jolly Christmas Parade, Animated Story Tree, Animal Characters Nightly visits with Santa (through December 23). 2. Saluda Shoals Holiday Lights on the River

3. Columbia City Ballet presents The Nutcracker at Koger Center for the Arts
Columbia City Ballet’s holiday family tradition, Nutcracker, dazzles South Carolina audiences each season. 4. The Best Christmas Pageant Ever by The Columbia Childrens’ Theater
This musical adaptation is full of laughs and heartwarming holiday tradition. The Herdmans are the worst kids in the history of the world–so when they crash Sunday school and demand parts in the Christmas pageant, the whole town panics. Silent night? Not a chance. 5. Shandon Baptist Church’s Singing Christmas Tree
This FREE event is a Columbia holiday tradition! The popular community holiday celebration returns for five performances this Christmas season. The Singing Christmas Tree features a 30-foot tree, holding a 100+-person choir. The choir is accompanied by a thirty-piece orchestra, and the show includes a dramatic presentation of the Christmas story accentuated by dance ensembles.
