If you’re in search of something fun and festive to do this holiday season, look no further. Providence Park has gathered a list of some of the best holiday events and activities going on in Columbia. There are memories to be made and fun to be had for all ages!
Lights Before Christmas at the Riverbanks Zoo is Columbia’s longest running holiday tradition that you surely won’t want to miss out on. This event is only open during select nights throughout November and December from 5:00-9:00 pm. Tickets are $12 for Adults and $10 for Children ages 2-12. Check out the Holly Jolly Christmas Parade, see nearly one million twinkling lights, experience up-close animal encounters, keep warm by the Jingle Bell Bonfire, and enjoy nightly visits with Santa!
Carolina Lights at the South Carolina State Fair is another holiday light event for you and the family to enjoy this year. This will be their first year offering a drive-thru holiday light show that takes place from December 7th through 28th (Monday-Thursday 6-9pm, Friday-Sunday 6-10pm). The cost is $20 per car, $35 for mini buses (9-24 passengers), and $70 for vehicles carrying over 25 passengers. This event will feature over 100 individual LED light displays, including Twelve Days of Christmas, a dancing field of Christmas trees, a 25-foot-tall Frosty, and much more!
Holiday lights on the River at Saluda Shoals Park that features an array of holiday activities for the family nightly! From November 27th through December 31st, you can experience the Midlands largest drive-through lights show. You’ll see more than a million sparking lights and over 400 animated light displays of all shapes and sizes. They also offer fun holiday activities such as the Winter Wonderland Tube Slide, a hayride, a train ride through the lights, craft making, marshmallow roasting, visits and photos with Santa (Dec. 13-23 only), and much more! Admission is $20 per car, $40 for 12-15 passenger vehicles, and $60 for busses carrying 16 or more passengers.
Famously Hot New Year is a New Year’s Eve celebration held in Downtown Columbia which features the largest fireworks display in South Carolina. This year, you can celebrate with Salt-N-Pepa, who will be headlining this free event on December 31st.
